PREPARATION
HITTING
THE MARK
At
least six weeks is needed to fully prepare for the coming of The Blacklight
Theatre. All hosts receive The Production Handbook giving all the details
necessary to enroll the cast, prepare for area promotion, prayer, set-up,
rehearsals and performances.
WEEK-END
TIME TABLE
Everything
takes place on the performance week-end. Unloading and set-up of equipment
begins at 6:00 PM on Thursday. Five people are needed for the four hour
process. Rehearsal begins Friday at 6:00-9:30 PM and resumes Saturday
at 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The first performance is 7:30 PM Saturday and the
second is Sunday at a time of the host's choosing.
HOUSING
NEEDS
Housing
is needed beginning Thursday running through Monday for Jackie Kemp. Your
distance from Charlotte may alter this. Hotel housing is not required.
FINANCES
A production
fee is asked which includes rehearsals, use of all equipment, lights,
props, costumes, rehearsals, and two performances with direction by Jackie
Kemp, ministry notes and The Production Handbook. A deposit and a signed
copy of The Ministry Covenant holds your date. Once these are received,
the host is sent The Production Handbook. You are asked to cover travel
costs to and from your area. At the close of performances, audiences are
eager to thank the Lord, so time is allotted for a love offering. Such
an offering assists the host in covering their costs. Complete information
on finances are available by calling The Blacklight Theatre office.
FACILITY
REQUIREMENTS
An
elevated platform of 28 feet to 36 feet in width with a depth of 25 feet
with front steps is needed. Platforms that run into a choir loft is often
suitable. It is necessary cave darkness for performances and rehearsals.
The host must also have a quality sound system as well as a spotlight
for the event.
